The commissioning brief asked for a fountain that could run a quiet, low-flow pattern during weekday lunch hours and a full three-zone choreographed sequence for evening events, on the same hardware, without a service call between modes. The basin ring uses the same cast water-etched laminate as our Meridian Atrium wall, chosen here to keep the fountain legible as a piece of the studio’s language even at fourteen metres across.
Each of the three jet zones runs its own variable-frequency drive, which is what makes the choreography possible — sequencing water height by throttling shared pump output produces a mushy, lagging pattern; independent VFDs per zone respond within a couple hundred milliseconds of a cue change.
