Most rain curtains are staged behind glass as a backdrop; this one is built into the storefront threshold itself, so customers pass directly alongside the falling sheet on their way in. That proximity meant the header had to be tuned for an unusually even gravity feed — any pooling or uneven bead spacing across a six-metre run is obvious at arm’s length in a way it never is from across a lobby.
The diffusion panel exists to soften the falling water into a visual field rather than a set of individual streams, and it does double duty holding back splash on windy days without needing a physical barrier between the curtain and the walkway.
